Everyone has stress. If you are alive, you have stress in your life. Whether it is paying bills, raising children, work-related, or family related, we all have different levels of stress in our lives.

How we cope with stress is often the key to relieving stress. Some people relieve stress through physical exercise, hobbies like painting or yoga, or playing music. Other people aren’t so lucky to have developed these coping strategies, or sometimes things just build up and nothing seems to relieve the stress that we put ourselves through. When this occurs, often the body is pushed to the limits. Inability to relax, sleep, or cope creates an environment for chaos in your otherwise healthy body, muscles become tense, energy is drained, and even your mind becomes fatigued.

People under intense psychological stress are more likely to have a weakened immune system. When the immune system is weak, it leaves the door open for outside elements to cause disease and sickness in your body, therefore causing even more stress to a person’s life.

THE CHIROPRACTIC APPROACH
Chiropractors relieve your body from one of the most destructive stresses you may experience: the vertebral subluxation complex. A subluxation is dangerous because is hard to detect without the proper examination. You can carry this often painless condition around for years without knowing it. A subluxation is a dangerous stressor that can damage your nerves, weaken your immune system and exhaust your physical energy stores.

Studies have shown chiropractic’s ability to reduce anxiety levels. Chiropractic care, by removing vertebral subluxations, can improve the function of your nervous system and promote better adaptation to environmental stress whether it be physical or psychological.
